The meeting was called to order at 6:03 pm.

Minutes:

A motion was made by Alan and second by Roger to accept the February minutes as presented.  Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report:

No Treasurers report.

Town Reports:

Bloomfield:

Alan reported that progress has been made on the BATV connection at the new location in the school; Comcast cable connection to the building should be connected in about a week. In March, Alan resigned as BATV Board President as they have term limits. Barbara Williams is the new President. Town meetings are being done over Zoom. Waiting on PEGPETIA check.

East Hartford:

Brenda reported that there is not much activity; they did get the Graduation video from BOE to air and a Memorial Day video. Replacing the server is on hold until the vendor is back in the office. Town Council and BOE Zoom meetings are being broadcast.

Hartford:

No report – Dick has tried to find out about a Hartford Rep and gotten no response.

Simsbury:

Karen reported that Eno Hall is officially closed; she is still going into the office with Patrick remotely working from home. There have been no studio shoots, all town meetings are being held over Zoom and broadcast live. Pre-recorded a Memorial Day video and aired some archival footage from the Historical Society. Live Graduation coverage crashed the website. Waiting for PEGPETIA check.

West Hartford:

Jen reported the town hall building is closed. They have expanded coverage to all town meetings, Memorial Day ceremonies, Kingswood Oxford graduation live streamed, Hall & Conard Graduations are next week at the Farmington Polo Grounds. Producers can record programs via Zoom. Jen is on the emergency team for the town of West Hartford which includes videos and messages to town employees and sub-committees. They have received their PEGPETIA check.

Windsor:

Jenny reported their building closed March 17 and they are working remotely with Chrome desktop; they will open by appointment only with only 1 employee in the studio at a time. She reminded us that the Town of Windsor manages the Government Channel. They have had Memorial Day programming, Black Lives Matter event coverage and create PSAs for the community. Graduation was done by the school’s A/V department. Cancelling the KidVid program was disappointing, but they couldn’t hold it and have social distancing; this is also a financial hit. They applied for a PPP Loan. Have done 2 new programs with Zoom. They are still waiting for the PEGPETIA check.

Bill added that the school has a great A/V dept. (he started it)

COMCAST:

Matt reminded us to use his cell number or email to contact him. Comcast’s CoVid response is for every customer to have a good experience. He submitted the following:

-No Disconnects and Waiving Late Fees: We will not disconnect a customer’s Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, or Xfinity Voice service. Late fees will be waived if they contact us and share that they can’t pay their bills during this period. Our teams can offer flexible payment options or help find other solutions.

-Xfinity Wi-Fi Free for Everyone: Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots in business and outdoor locations across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi.

-Internet Essentials: Internet Essentials is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption program. We are extending our offer of 60 days of complimentary service for new customers that sign up by June 30th. Internet Essentials is normally available to all qualified low-income households for $9.95/month. In addition to the 60 days of complimentary service, Comcast is also temporarily offering amnesty to low-income households who would otherwise qualify for Internet Essentials but have a past due balance that is less than a year old. Comcast will offer amnesty for that debt for the purpose of connecting to Internet Essentials, so long as the customer meets all the other eligibility criteria. For more information, visit www.internetessentials.com.
